Platinum Market Update
Platinum for April delivery PLJ5, +0.65% rose $7 to $1,207.50 an ounce and March palladium PAH5, +2.14% picked up $20.80 to $794.45 an ounce. High-grade copper for March delivery HGH5, +0.00% ended little changed at $2.605 a pound.
Silver Market Update
March silver SIH5, +3.13% jumped 50 cents, or 3%, to end at $17.294 an ounce, for a weekly gain of around 3.6%.
Gold’s two-day streak helps trim weekly loss to 0.6%
Gold futures settled higher for the second-consecutive day Friday, paring the precious metal’s loss for the week.
Gold for April delivery GCJ5, +0.59% gained $6.40, or 0.5%, to settle at $1,227.10 an ounce on Comex. Prices based on the most-active contracts were down about 0.6% on the week.
Nymex oil scores third week of gains in a row
U.S. crude-oil futures on Friday scored a third straight weekly gain, with prices for the Brent contract marking their highest settlement of the year on the back of spending cuts by oil companies and further declines in the number of active U.S. oil rigs.
Crude for delivery in March CLH5, +2.81% rose $1.57, or 3.1%, to settle at $52.78 a barrel—up about 2.1% for the week.
