April platinum PLJ5, +0.66%  rose $6.20, or 0.5%, to $1,168.80 an ounce.

March palladium PAH5, +0.37%  gained $18.05, or 2.3%, to $808.05 an ounce.

 March copper HGH5, +0.34% added 1.6 cents, or 0.6%, to settle at $2.664 a pound.

Oil reclaims $50 level as heating oil, gasoline rally

Oil futures reclaimed the $50 level on Wednesday, taking their cue from a rally in heating oil and gasoline despite a U.S. government report showing that crude supplies rose for a seventh straight week.

Crude futures for delivery in April CLJ5, -0.90%  settled at $50.99 a barrel, up $1.71, or 3.5%. The April contract had posted declines in each of the last five trading sessions.

Brent crude for April delivery LCOJ5, -0.62%  on London’s ICE Futures exchange closed up $2.97, or 5.1%, to $61.63 a barrel.

Gold scores first price gain in four sessions

Gold futures scored their first gain in four sessions on Wednesday, buoyed by comments from Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen, a weaker U.S. dollar and signs of rising demand from China.

Gold for April delivery GCJ5, +0.58%  rose $4.20, or 0.4%, to settle at $1,201.50 an ounce on Comex. March silver SIH5, +0.70%  tacked on 24.2 cents, or 1.5%, to end at $16.43 an ounce.

KLSE Malaysia Opening Market Update

MALAYSIA share prices opened lower on Thursday with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 1.90 points to 1813.88.

Volume was 47.12 million lots worth RM27.7 million.

Gainers outnumbered losers 106 to 67.
